Top Questions
It depends on who you plan to trade with. A mainland licence lets you trade directly across the UAE without restriction; a free zone licence is typically simpler and faster to set up but has more limited scope to trade directly within the local UAE market. We recommend a jurisdiction based on your actual activity, not a default answer.
Timelines vary by jurisdiction and activity. Once your documents are ready, a straightforward free zone licence often moves faster than a mainland one with additional approvals. We give you a specific estimate once we know your activity and chosen jurisdiction.
A free zone company can operate within its zone and internationally, and can sponsor UAE visas. An offshore company cannot sponsor visas or trade directly within the UAE market, and is generally used for holding assets or international structuring. We recommend free zone or mainland for anyone planning to live and work in the UAE.
Most of the company formation paperwork can be completed remotely. A visit is generally required only once you apply for a residence visa, for biometrics and an Emirates ID appointment - we tell you exactly when that becomes necessary.
Visa quotas depend on your jurisdiction, licence type and office space - a flexi desk typically carries a smaller quota than a physical office. We confirm your exact quota as part of the setup process.
